Border Patrolling
(brdp)
"Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats."
Every Clan needs to patrol its borders -- it's part of the Warrior Code. The objective for these patrols is to look for any trespassers or dangers along their route and deal with them accordingly. After the patrol, the patrol leader must return to the Clan deputy for a report. The deputy will then present the report to the Clan leader.
Hunting Patrols (hntp)
In a hunting patrol, the participants' goal is to bring fresh-kill back to the Clan. It is against the Code to eat during these patrols; it must all must go back to camp for the kits and elders to eat first.
See this thread for more information.

The Frequency
(freq)

"Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats."
Since every member has a unique timezone, following this code is pretty much impossible. Here's how we fix that:
Every Clan will post a Patrol thread in their territory every other week. This thread must be at least a whole page [ 15 posts ] long, and must be completed by the time of the next Patrol.
The Clan deputies are responsible for keeping track of which cats go on each patrol, and sending PMs to the members who are to go on each patrol.
[ To make things easier, the Staff recommend the deputies also post in their Clan announcement board the patrol schedule and participating characters/members. ]
Each Patrol will patrol a single part of the territory. The next Patrol will patrol the part of the territory immediately afterward.
Example: A ThunderClan Patrol will make their thread in The Great Sycamore board; two real-life weeks afterward, another Patrol will make their thread in The Owl Tree board.

The Posts
(post)
In a Border Patrol thread, the Patrol leader must start the first post. Please format it like so:
-Clan- Border Patrol
AREA PATROLLEDDate
RP Post Here
EXAMPLE:
RiverClan Border Patrol
THE GORGE12/14/10
-Clan- Border Patrol [blockquote]AREA PATROLLED[blockquote]Date[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]
RP Post Here
In Border Patrol posts, the participants may converse, hunt, or just observe if nothing special is happening. Every so-often, a Staff member might pop in as a kittypet or something, or a Staff member may message a different Clan leader to form a patrol to attack. However, only Clans who share the "border" being patrolled may trespass at that time. Check these tables:
{RiverClan} Part of Territory | ThunderClan | WindClan | ShadowClan | The Gorge | ✗ | ✓ | ✗ | The River | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ | Twoleg Bridge | ✓ | ✓ | ✗ |
{ShadowClan} Part of Territory | WindClan | RiverClan | ThunderClan | The Carrionplace | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ | Thunderpath Tunnel | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ | Burnt Sycamore | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ |
{ThunderClan} Part of Territory | WindClan | RiverClan | ShadowClan | The Great Sycamore | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ | The Owl Tree | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | Snakerocks | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ |
{WindClan} Part of Territory | ShadowClan | ThunderClan | RiverClan | The Abandoned Badger Set | ✗ | ✓ | ✓ | The Gorge | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ | Twoleg Farm | ✗ | ✗ | ✗ | Outlook Rock | ✓ | ✓ | ✗ |
The Players (plyr)
Every Patrol must have at least three [ 3 ] different members participating in the thread. The chosen members are expected to participate in the Patrol they're assigned to within the appropriate time slot, which is before the thread closes and a new Patrol begins. If there is a personal issue, please notify the Staff or your Clan leader/deputy, and a replacement will be arranged.
+ + + + + + +
The Characters
(char)
Every Patrol must also have at least five [ 5 ] cats. At least three of those cats must be warriors, and at least two [ 2 ] apprentices, who must be with their mentors. However, an apprentice can be signed up to go on a Patrol "by themselves" if their mentor's player can't make it for the Patrol -- but it's recommended that they tag along.
Example: Whitetooth is the Clan deputy. Her player picks five members and seven cats to participate in the Patrol;
"Warrior Luver" -- her characters, a warrior named Sootfur - Silverpaw's mentor - and an apprentice named Fleckpaw are in the Patrol.
"ThunderClan's Best" -- his characters, two warriors named Redmuzzle - Fleckpaw's mentor - and Softeye are in the Patrol.
"Budge" -- his character, an apprentice named Silverpaw, is in the Patrol.
"The Fallen" -- her character, an apprentice named Rainpaw, is in the Patrol.
"Ivy" -- her character, a warrior named Antleg, wasn't scheduled in this Patrol, but since he is Rainpaw's mentor and Ivy finished her big Chemistry project in RL [ YAY, IVY! ^^ ], he tags along.
